Out of School Care
With the change to supervision times that will be taking effect for the 2020-2021 school year at École Meridian Heights School (EMHS), we recognize that some families will have to make alternate arrangements for the care and supervision of their children. For this reason, we are introducing an optional licensed Out of School Care (OSC) program to help families affected by these changes.
The EMHS OSC will be offered to EMHS students for the 2020-2021 school year by Cindy Van Beers, who also currently operates a similar program at Blueberry School and Parkland Village School. The program can accommodate up to 45 students in Kindergarten to Grade 6, who will be under the care of certified staff with valid first aid certificates.
OSC staff will assist students with home reading, spelling words and homework each day, while running a learning-through-play program plan in an EMHS classroom, with access to the gym and outdoor areas, weather permitting. OSC students will also be provided with morning and afternoon snacks, hot & cold cereals, fruit bowls and yogurt.
