Fire Alarm at École Meridian Heights School
Good morning Meridian Heights Families,
We just wanted to provide an update that led to a disruption at the beginning of the day at École Meridian Heights School. The Stony Plain Fire Department was dispatched to École Meridian Heights in response to a fire alarm at approximately 9:20 on Thursday morning.
Fire protocols were enacted immediately and effectively to ensure the safety of all of our staff and students. Thankfully, it was a heat sensor that functioned as it should and there was no fire. Our neighbours across the street at Connections for Learning kept us out of the wind and cold. Our day was able to resume as planned after about a 25 minute delay.
Thanks to all the students and staff, the fire department and PSD's Facilities Services for such a great response. For further information on safety procedures, please familiarize yourself with Division emergency procedures.
